National Culture Day celebrated by the Romanian Cultural Institute through 50 events around the world

29 November 2022 All day

Between 21 November and 10 December 2022, for three weeks, the Romanian Cultural Institute is organising 50 events to mark Romania's National Day in 31 cities abroad. The events organised by the ICR through its representations abroad and through the International Relations Directorate are held in collaboration with the diplomatic missions of Romania in the countries of residence.

On 25 November 2022, ICR Warsaw, the Romanian Embassy in the Republic of Poland, the Polytechnic University of Timișoara and the National Museum of Banat are organising the preview of the exhibition "Spotlight Heritage Timișoara". The project, part of the official programme "Timișoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture", evokes the most important architectural monuments in the city centre, but also in the historical districts (Elisabetin, Fabric, Iosefin, Cetate).

Year after year, the project "Heritage in the Spotlight - Spotlight Heritage Timisoara" tells the many stories of Timisoara through digital technologies. Stories of cultural and historical heritage are interwoven with those of past and present inhabitants through the digital overlay of intangible heritage found in novels, memories and oral history.

See the official announcement ICR HERE.

Digital components of the project are accessible online at https://spotlight-timisoara.eu/ and through mobile applications which can be downloaded from Android and Apple stores by searching for "Spotlight Timisoara" or scanning the QR code attached to this release.
