Before the start of the Festival of Romanian Culture in Krakow, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Warsaw will host the exhibition "Timisoara - Heritage in the Spotlight" at the Voivodeship Public Library in Krakow from 21 April to 31 May 2023.

Having been successfully presented in Warsaw and Poznań, the exhibition aims to bring to the Polish public the rich heritage and fascinating stories of Timisoara, which is this year's European Capital of Culture. The project, initiated in 2016 and carried out by Politehnica University Timișoara and the National Museum of Banat, is included in the official Cultural Programme Timișoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture.

The exhibition presents a unique combination of the city's cultural and historical heritage and the personal stories of its inhabitants, digitally integrated with the intangible heritage of novels, memories and oral history. Year after year, tourists are invited to explore Timișoara through a complex programme that includes museum exhibitions, theatre and street dance performances, as well as digital activities such as augmented reality and virtual reality.

In 2022, the project was awarded Gold in Excellence at the Romanian PR Award, the national competition that recognizes excellence in promotion, and received the special PR Innovator of the Year award.

The exhibition is organized by the Polytechnic University of Timișoara and the National Museum of Banat, with the financial support of the Municipality of Timișoara and the Timișș County Council. In Krakow, the event is presented in partnership with the Vojvodal Public Library and the Honorary Consulate of Romania in the city.

Through this project, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Warsaw continues to give visibility to Timisoara, highlighting its diverse heritage and entrepreneurial spirit.
