Finishing the exhibition "Heritage Under the Spotlight - Parallel Lights"
1 October 2023 @ 11:00 – 14:00
On October 1st, Sunday, will be the last day of the exhibition. "Heritage Under the Spotlight - Parallel Lights" will be open to the public. This Sunday the exhibition will be finished in the B2 attic of the Maria Theresia Bastion.
It is the last chance to discover the stories of Timisoara immersively through various installations using augmented and virtual reality technologies, through which you will be able to discover the stories behind the exhibits and various locations in the city.
A 𝐭𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝟏𝟏:𝟎𝟎, 𝐢𝐚𝐫 𝐥𝐚 𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝟏𝟐:𝟎𝟎 𝐯𝐚 𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐜 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐣𝐮𝐥 will be held to mark the official closing of the space.
We invite you to step into the history of neighbourhoods through a baroque key: the allegory of the senses, presenting sequences of daily life in Iosefin (2019), Elisabetin (2020), Fabric (2021), Cetate (2022) and Giroc (2023), a dormitory neighbourhood from the socialist period.
In the attic of the Theresia Bastion, cultural heritage items from the collections of the National Museum of Banat will be exhibited, illustrating the economic, social and cultural life of the five districts of Timișoara, together with various sources of memory: fragments of interviews and literary texts (novel, diary, memoirs). The exhibition includes an important selection of postcards, photographs, seals, guild diplomas, which bear witness to sequences in the history of the 5 districts of Timișoara and the various cultural-linguistic communities.
We will take you on a sensory journey where you will have the joy of exploring urban spaces through the eyes of five of Timisoara's leading personalities:
- Sight and the world Valerie Pintea in the Iosefin district, through Liana Maria Gomboșiu's novel;
- Tactile and the world hidden in a chest of his Netti Diel in the Elisabetin district, through the family diary of Piei Brînzeu;
- Auzul The hearing and the worlds in destinies of the Fabric district, in the archives of the Oral History and Cultural Anthropology Group, founded and coordinated by Mrs. Smaranda Vultur
- The Smeller The sense of smell and the world in the mirror of the Cetate district, from the perspective of the poems written by Robert Șerban and the texts selected by Smaranda Vultur and Roxana Rogobete;
- Gustav The sense of taste and parallel worlds in the Giroc district, captured in Sorina Jecza's diary, visual impressions and information from the '89 Revolution.
The exhibition is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00-18:00 and the entrance fee is 16 lei/person. Payment is made on site. 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫ă 𝐝𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚̆, 𝟎𝟏 𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝟐𝟐𝟐𝟑.
