Award for Excellence in Culture for UPT's partner in the implementation of Spotlight Heritage Timisoara: National Museum of Banat
16 December 2021 @ 18:00 - 20:00
The National Museum of Banat, partner of the UPT e-Learning Centre in the implementation of the Spotlight Heritage Timisoara project, received
Award for Excellence in Culture within Excellence Awards Gala 2021 at the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, for actively supporting the values of the Polytechnic University and Timișoara's heritage. The award was presented to the director of MNaB, Claudiu Ilaș, by the director of CeL, dr. eng. Diana Andone
On 25 July 1872, the first scientific society in Banat was founded, the Society of History and Archaeology, which laid the foundations, 4 years later, of the Banat Museum. Today, it is a museum of national importance, with sections of Archaeology, History, Natural Sciences and Visual Arts and Museum Pedagogy, the "Traian Vuia" Museum in the town of the same name and the one dedicated to the master Stefan Popa Popas. It organizes more than 15 annual exhibitions, dedicated to regional culture and heritage, many interdisciplinary, some dedicated to the values of polytechnic universities.
Annually, from 2019, the Project Spotlight Heritage Timisoara is realized by the Polytechnic University of Timișoara in partnership with the National Museum of Banat. Through it, the stories of history and culture are transposed digitally, giving us the chance to walk through Timișoara's historic neighbourhoods, through the history of communities, enriching our senses, celebrating everyday life.
Since 2016, the university's landmark technical innovation - the first MECIPT electronic computing machine - has returned, along with over 100 other pieces of technical equipment, to the UPT Technical Museum, after being preserved and cared for by MNAB.
With courage, the museum has brought the sport into the exhibition in 2021, celebrating Politehnica at the Centenary, through "A romanticized history of one of the most beautiful stories in Romanian football".
From the Committee for Excellence in Culture Award were Dr.Eng. Diana ANDONE, Sorina JECZA and Ș.l.dr.ing. Ioan Mărginean.
