5 November 2023 All day

At the Partenalia conference on 15 November 2023, which took place in Timisoara, organized by the Timis County Council, Dr. Diana Andone, Director of the ID/IFR and e-Learning Centre at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, spoke about the Spotlight Heritage Timisoara project.

During his presentation, the importance of using digital technologies to promote and preserve local cultural heritage was highlighted. She presented the Spotlight Heritage Timisoara project, which uses virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) to offer visitors an interactive and immersive experience of Timisoara's cultural heritage.

The Spotlight Heritage Timisoara project includes a series of VR and AR applications that allow visitors to explore the city's important sights, such as the Synagogue in the Cetate district, the Millenium Church in the Fabric district or the Romanian National Opera. The apps are available free of charge for mobile devices and can be downloaded from the project website.

During the conference, participants had the opportunity to test Spotlight Heritage branded VR and AR applications. They were impressed by the realism and interactivity of the apps, which gave them a unique experience of visiting the sights of Timisoara.

The Partenalia conference was an excellent opportunity for Dr Diana Andone to present the Spotlight Heritage Timisoara project to a wide audience of representatives of intermediate local governments from Romania and other European countries. The project was received with interest by the participants, who appreciated its potential to promote and preserve local cultural heritage.

The Spotlight Heritage Timisoara project is an excellent example of how digital technologies can be used to promote and preserve local cultural heritage. VR and AR apps provide an engaging and interactive experience that can help visitors better understand the city's history and culture.

Through the Spotlight Heritage Timisoara project, the Polytechnic University of Timisoara contributes to the promotion of local cultural heritage and to the creation of a richer and more engaging visitor experience for tourists.
