Enter the atmosphere of Timișoara's stories of yesteryear, and discover 4 Timișoara neighbourhoods through dance, music, theatre and digital technology!

Discover Timișoara's heritage in dance steps, through theatre scenes in an exceptional staging with elements of digital technology and contribute to a better life for people with intellectual disabilities.

The Polytechnic University of Timișoara, through the ID/IFR and e-Learning Centre and the Multimedia Centre, together with the National Museum of Banat, in partnership with Magnum Team, the Banat Philharmonic Timișoara and together with the Pentru Voi Foundation invites you on Tuesday, May 2nd 2023, from 6:00 pm to the Heritage in the Spotlight show Pentru Voi - Anniversary Gala Pentru Voi 15th edition, part of the Spotlight Heritage Timișoara project, part of the National Cultural Programme "Timișoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023".

We invite you to join us in the Capitol Hall to enjoy together an immersion in the world of art through unique theatre pieces, with elements of dance, music and digital technologies, that tell Timișoara's stories, integrated in the project Happenings and performances for Timisoara's heritage.

Join us in the atmosphere of Timișoara's stories of yesteryear, in the world of Valerie, Elsa, Netti and Mariana, in the histories of 4 Timișoara neighbourhoods through dance, music, theatre and digital technology! Discover the Cetate, Fabric, Elisabetin and Iosefin neighbourhoods in a single evening through mosaics of stories from the window of the human soul and experience the unseen stories of our city. 

"Heritage under the spotlight For You" is a charity event show organized by Politehnica University Timișoara in collaboration with Magnum Team Sports Dance Club and the National Museum of Banat for the benefit of For You Foundation.

By participating, you not only have the opportunity to peek through the looking glass of the past and experience some of the stories of the people of that time, but, by your presence, you can further help Fundatia Pentru Voi, an NGO that specializes in helping over 200 people with intellectual disabilities. The art show is dedicated to and performed for the benefit of the Foundation to further support those who have dedicated their lives to improving and easing the lives of others. 

Currently, Fundația Pentru Voi provides social services for 200 adults with intellectual disabilities and their families in Timisoara and its surroundings, in 3 day centres and 6 sheltered homes. For 26 of the foundation's beneficiaries, left without parents or whose parents are too old and ill to care for them, there are 6 sheltered homes, where they live a decent life in a protected environment.

About the show Heritage in the Spotlight For You

The performance will be realized in partnership with Magnum Dance Sport Team and Fundația Pentru Voi, is part of the project "Happenings and performances for Timisoara's heritage" of the University Politehnica Timișoara, is part of the National Cultural Programme "Timișoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded by the Inside Timișoara 2023 programme, run by the Project Centre of the Municipality of Timișoara, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.

The show follows the diversity of the cultural-linguistic communities in Timișoara and the dynamics of daily life in the four historic districts of Timișoara (Iosefin, Fabric, Elisabetin and Cetate), illustrated through the parallel worlds of the four women: the world of Valerie Pintea in the Iosefin district, through Liana Maria Gomboșiu's novel. World Elsei Kornis and worlds in destinies in the Fabric district, reflected in the interviews from the archive of the Oral History and Cultural Anthropology Group, founded and coordinated by Mrs. Smaranda Vultur. 

We also follow the world hidden in a chest of Netti Diel from the Elisabetin district, through Piei Brînzeu's family diary and the mirrored world of Marianei Klein, married Șora, from the interview conducted by Smaranda Vultur in Baile Herculane in 2001. Augmented reality elements and archival images of iconic buildings enrich the discovery through dance of everyday life in these historic districts of the town on the Bega.  

The performances that will take place are based on the experience, dramaturgy and partly choreography performed in the 4 outdoor shows in partnership between UPT and Magnum Team in 2022. The event will benefit from dedicated dramaturgy, set design, choreography, videography and will bring together actresses in the main female roles, 10 young dancers from the Magnum Team and 6 children dancers. 

It will mix the interventions of professionals Raul Avram and Diana Avram with those of Oana Antonovici, together with young amateur dancers and children who are learning their first steps of dance and stage movement.
