"Heritage in the Spotlight - Women of the Future" is a theatre, music and dance performance that aims to recover and celebrate the memories and stories of Timișoara's past and present inhabitants, bringing to the forefront the technical innovations that have marked the city, illustrated by the biographies of remarkable personalities, especially women from the fields of science and higher education at the Polytechnic University of Timișoara.

The show will be a brilliant staging of the innovation represented by the creation of the first electronic university computer in Romania, MECIPT, in 1961, also highlighting the often underestimated contributions of women in the Polytechnic. In an effort to directly engage the community, participants will be encouraged to become active explorers of history and science, thereby discovering the deeper significance of the city's cultural and scientific heritage.

The exceptional part of this show is the use of advanced digital technologies, such as mixed-technology 3D projections and augmented reality elements. These are created by the students and professors of the Multimedia Centre of the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, bringing a modern and exciting touch to the whole event.

This interdisciplinary collaboration between art, technology and history highlights not only the technological evolution of the city, but also the invaluable contribution of women in shaping and developing the field. Viewers will be invited on a fascinating journey, where past and future intertwine harmoniously, bringing to light the lesser-known side of Timișoara's cultural and technological heritage.

"Heritage in the Spotlight - Women of the Future" is more than a performance - through this artistic production, the Polytechnic University of Timișoara offers the audience not just a performance, but a unique experience, an echo that transcends time and brings deserved honour to Timișoara's cultural and technological heritage, highlighting the significant role of women in defining and shaping our common future.

Spotlight Heritage Timișoara / Patrimoniul sub reflectoare is a digital cultural initiative of the Politehnica University of Timișoara realized in partnership with the National Museum of Banat, part of the Cultural Programme Timișoara 2023 European Capital of Culture. Cultural project co-financed by the Center for Projects of the Municipality of Timișoara, Timiș County Council, Ministry of Culture, Romania, EEA and Norway Grants.
