"For four years, Spotlight Heritage Timișoara has been telling the stories of those neglected by history - ordinary people, with the help of digital technology elements, created by the students and teachers of the Politehnica University of Timișoara and the exhibits from the heritage of the National Museum of Banat, staged by a team of museographers, formed by Marius Cornea, Zoran Marcov and Ciprian Glăvan. I would like to thank the students and teachers at the The Multimedia Centre and the UPT e-Learning Center, the Timișoara City Hall, but, especially, the three ladies who allowed us to use the novel by Ms. Liana Maria Gomboșiu, the family diary written by Ms. Professor Pia Brînzeu, the interview archive of the Oral History and Cultural Anthropology Group, established in 1998 and coordinated by professor Smaranda Vultur, and the poems of the well-known man of culture, Robert Șerban. We’d like to thank all our partners, Magnum Team Sports Dance Club, Thespis Student Theatre, artisans of the seven shows with elements of augmented and virtual reality. An impressive number of people followed us during these four years, from Dubai to Novi Sad, Kaunas and of course, Timișoara. The next Spotlight Heritage Timișoara exhibition will be held in Warsaw at the end of November. We are waiting for you to rediscover us in Timișoara, European Capital of Culture 2023! "! "
Spotlight Heritage Timișoara is a digital cultural initiative of the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, in partnership with the National Museum of Banat, which overlays the physical heritage in a digital format, by using the latest generation technologies (web, mobile, AR, VR and XR). The project is co-financed by the Municipality of Timișoara, through the Project Center, Timiș County Council and is part of the series of projects dedicated to the cultural program - Timișoara European Cultural Capital 2023.
The project was created with and for the community. One of the most important features of the project is its participatory nature: the involvement of students and teachers in the creation of digital artefacts, the participation of young people or seniors, cultural and academic sectors, all having a valuable contribution to the realization of this project.
The project added digital stories about Timișoara's neighborhoods and explored new technologies annually, giving citizens the opportunity to acquire complex skills in the production, access and distribution of cultural products. In this way, countless chapters related to the heritage of Timisoara can be glued together like a "puzzle", the project becoming a landmark of the city.
