On July 23, 2023, in the premises of the U Barracks, the theatre and dance show "Spotlight Heritage - a leap into freedom", bringing to the fore the impressive stories of the young people of Generation X, who shaped the destiny of an entire nation and became martyrs for freedom. The event is the 9th cultural production in the series brought to the public by the Spotlight Heritage Timisoara project, as part of the national cultural programme "Timisoara - European Capital of Culture 2023".

The show brought together 500 people, eager to learn the story of the heroes who defined the fate and destiny of the entire nation at crucial moments in history. It was a moving journey back in time, bringing to the fore the memories of the young people who gave voice to freedom and started the Revolution of '89.

The artistic performance was based on music composed by Dan Simion, choreography and direction by Diana and Raul Avram, and dramaturgy by Mariana Boșneac. The dancers from the Magnum Team Sports Dance Club delighted the audience with impressive and emotionally moving scenes. Robert Șerban's memorable lyrics and Constantin Duma's archival images evoked a symphony of words, music and images, giving the audience a moving and profound journey through the stories of the horrors of December 1989. The performance was a total immersion in history and the stories of the people who lived through revolutionary times. 

The event was a true artistic performance, conveying a strong message about courage, sacrifice and the importance of freedom, highlighting the city's cultural and historical heritage. Spotlight Heritage Timisoara continued to bring attention to crucial historical moments in the city's and nation's past, revealing an essential part of the cultural and historical heritage of Timisoara, as well as the whole country.

All this was made possible thanks to the support of the Triade Foundation and the National Museum of Banat, which supported the project and the cultural mission of Spotlight Heritage Timisoara.

This new cultural production once again demonstrated Spotlight Heritage Timisoara's commitment and dedication to connecting people through culture and bringing to the public's attention significant moments in Timisoara's history, giving them a deep insight into national roots and values.
